Honestly not sure how literal he meant that. I don't know enough about blinking but I do know it's common to feel that cutting is an important tool for pacing and engagement ... I think the idea is that too little cutting is tiresome and too much is nauseating, but a comfortable amount probably mimics the frequency with which we blink! but from me this is unscientific conjecture. he might've had sources, given that he was a sound professor. no idea
